Boston / Nantucket / Cape Cod
Last weekend I traveled back East for a friend's wedding. I haven't spent much time on the East Coast aside from business trips to New York so it was a blast touring the other side of the country with my best friends from high school.
I completely fell in love with Boston - I couldn't believe how charming the city was. It's a little crazy to think this city is older than my home state of California. I took a red-eye on Wednesday and had some solo time before our hotel room was ready and the rest of the girls arrived. I walked around Newbury Street, shopped a bit, drank some coffee, ate some chowda, and got my nails done - mostly so I could take a quick nap in the pedicure chair - I'm not the best sleeper on redeye flights. :)
So call it West Coast ignorance, but apparently my knowledge of the East Coast is pretty limited. I had no idea Nantucket was an hour ferry ride away from the Cape! I'm not sure where I thought Nantucket was exactly - I knew it was an island, but thought it was accessible via a bridge or causeway. Nantucket was adorable. We rented bikes and rode to Cisco Brewery, ate some really great sandwiches at Provisions, and had an incredible meal at Black Eyed Susan's. Speaking of bikes... my best friend Corinne and I thought we would live out our dream of riding a tandem bike together. We did not get far.

Cape Cod was beautiful. We rented an adorable house near the wedding venue - my favorite part of the house was the driveway: it was made of seashells! The wedding was incredible - it was great to celebrate one of my favorite couples. I've known the bride since the 7th grade and the groom since they day he met the bride while we were all living in Miami.
